Fajarasia.id – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) began his visit to Singapore with a significant agenda. Ahead of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2025, the Indonesian leader met with former Prime Minister and current Senior Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong.
The meeting took place on Thursday (November 20, 2025) in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Jokowi shared several moments from the encounter on his official Instagram account, showing him and Lee shaking hands, walking together, riding a buggy car, and sitting side by side for a friendly discussion. Jokowi was accompanied by his aide, Commissioner Syarif Fitriansyah.
“This morning in Singapore, I met with Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong,” Jokowi wrote.
During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on how Indonesia and Singapore could contribute to each other’s development. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral friendship in the years ahead.
“We had a casual talk while sharing perspectives on contributions to the progress of both nations and the potential to deepen Indonesia-Singapore friendship going forward,” Jokowi added.
The Bloomberg New Economy Forum runs from November 19–21, 2025, in Singapore. The event features plenary sessions, group discussions, and networking opportunities under the main theme “Thriving in an Age of Extremes.”
Jokowi is scheduled to deliver his speech on Friday (November 21). His participation is expected to highlight Indonesia’s role and perspectives in navigating global challenges.****
