Fajarasia.co – President Joko Widodo, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, and media editors enjoy young coconut ice at the Sepaku Semoi Dam, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, after reviewing the raw water supply infrastructure in the new capital.
Arriving at the dam with a capacity of 10 million cubic meters, Wednesday, the President immediately listened to the panel presentation and mock-up of the dam by the Director General of Water Resources of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Jarot Widyoko.
After seeing the mock-up of the dam construction, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono suddenly made an announcement.
“Mr. President, Mrs. Puan, here is a young coconut. Especially for Mr. President and the editor-in-chief (pemred). Not the host,” said the Minister of PUPR to applause from those present, as quoted from an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat.
“I’m not the editor-in-chief but my friend is the editor-in-chief, okay?” exclaimed the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia to laughter from the audience.
President Jokowi also took a young coconut, followed by DPR Chair Puan Maharani, a number of ministers who accompanied him, and the editors of the national and local media in East Kalimantan.
While enjoying young coconut ice, the President continued the discussion with the editors in a gazebo. The young coconut ice enjoyed by the President and his entourage became a refresher in the scorching heat of the Sepaku Semoi Dam that afternoon.
After reviewing the Sepaku Semoi Dam, President Jokowi and his entourage continued their working visit and headed for the Zero Point of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN).
Before visiting the Sepaku Dam, the President also visited the Mentawir Nursery in North Penajam Paser Regency. According to the President, the construction of the Mentawir Nursery is a tangible manifestation of the government’s seriousness in managing the environment, especially in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area.
“We want to show that we are serious about environmental issues, that’s serious. In fact, if we don’t build here, the environment is getting more and more damaged. That’s all that must be underlined,” said the President during a discussion with the editors.
In the development of IKN, the President targets the composition of nature to be 75 to 80 percent. This, said the President, is in accordance with the IKN concept as a city in a forest or a forest city.
With the construction of the Sepaku Semoi Dam and the Mentawir Nursery in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, the President stated that basic construction in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) had begun.*****
