Anto said, Riau Main Stadium was built using a large enough budget, and had already carved out the history of PON Riau 2012. Then the Riau Main Stadium was also used for AFC international matches.
“This means that the Riau Main Stadium was the 10 largest stadium in Asia at that time, but at this time the stadium lacks maintenance because it is not used. If the goods are not used, of course it will break quickly. Of course that is what we did not expect,” he said.
According to him, the cost of repairing the Main Stadium is quite large. Therefore, the Riau Provincial Government is looking for a third party in the utilization of the Riau Main Stadium. “We don’t want to fix it by allocating a budget, because we are worried that if the budget is allocated and repaired, but no one uses it, it can be damaged. But Alhamdulillah, the PSPS club president is willing to use the Riau Main Stadium as a headquarters to advance PSPS in the future,” he explained. .
Anto said that his party needed to calculate all the costs of repairing the Main Stadium. Whether the repair costs require a budget of IDR 50 billion or IDR 100 billion. “We’ll replace everything that was damaged. Then from the total cost of repairs, how much will PSPS pay with compensation for how many years it can be based in the Main Stadium. That way, there is legal certainty and there are activities at the Main Stadium, so it won’t be left like this? now,” he explained.
Therefore, Anto immediately formed a team to calculate the cost of repairing the stadium, and prepare the legal basis for cooperation. If the legal basis for the cooperation has been completed, said Anto, the file will be sent to PSPS for study.
“If they have studied it, we will find time to discuss the technical cooperation together. Because their target is that the Riau Main Stadium can be used as the PSPS Homebase in June 2020 for League 2,” he said.
Before the Main Stadium was used for Liga 2, said Anto, the grass would be replaced by PSPS using their own expense. “Later when they use the stadium there will be some kind of news report, because they have started investing in the stadium for grass repairs,” he said.****
