Fajarasia.id – November 17, 2025 (Realitarakyat.com) – Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) today carried out a fit and proper test for candidates of the Judicial Commission (KY) for the 2025–2030 term, following nominations submitted by President Prabowo Subianto.
Chairman of Commission III, Habiburokhman, opened the public hearing with the Selection Committee (Pansel) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan. He explained that the initial stage began with the preparation of written papers by the candidates. “At 11 a.m. we will hold the draw for candidate numbers, followed by the essay writing session,” Habiburokhman stated during the open forum.
Seven Nominees Proposed by the President Through a letter dated October 22, 2025, President Prabowo submitted seven names to the DPR, as the current KY members’ term will end on December 21, 2025. The nominees are:
F. Willem Saija and Setyawan Hartono (former judges)
Anita Kadir and Desmihardi (legal practitioners)
Andi Muhammad Asrun and Abdul Chair Ramadhan (legal academics)
Abhan (public figure)
Comprehensive Selection Process The seven names were the result of a rigorous selection process conducted by the presidentially appointed committee. Registration was open from June 2–23, 2025, attracting 236 applicants. Of these, 176 advanced to the quality selection stage, with 166 attending the test on July 8, 2025.
Further assessments narrowed the pool to 42 candidates through profile evaluations, then to 21 after interviews and medical examinations. Ultimately, seven finalists were chosen and forwarded to the DPR for consideration.
Commitment to Transparency Chairman of the Selection Committee, Dhahana Putra, emphasized that the process was conducted objectively and transparently. “We ensured accountability by inviting input from NGOs, academics, state institutions, and the wider public,” he said.
