Government strengthens technology ecosystem through MoU with Microsoft

Fajarasia.co – The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs supports the acceleration of digital transformation and strengthening the ecosystem through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Microsoft Indonesia on Synergy for Ecosystem Strengthening and Digital Economy Transformation.

The MoU was signed by the Deputy for Coordination of the Digital Economy, Employment, and MSMEs at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Mohammad Rudy Salahuddin, with Microsoft Indonesia President Director Dharma Simorangkir, at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Office, Jakarta, Thursday (16/6/2022).

“To encourage the development of digital skills, a number of activities will be carried out, such as Training of Trainers (ToT) which will be held in stages and targeting as many as 500 individuals, as well as conducting training to improve digital skills for K/L employees and the general public, with a target of 1 million participants. in the next few years,” said Rudy.

The Memorandum of Understanding covers the scope of policy coordination and synchronization as well as the implementation of cooperation programs, especially in the fields of technological innovation and artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence), digital literacy, good data governance, industry 4.0 acceleration, and the digital economy incubation program.

The implementation of the MoU will be carried out through the establishment of a Digital Leadership Working Group to encourage policy alignment to accelerate digital transformation and provide recommendations for digital solutions in priority sectors, exchange of data and information, as well as organizing workshops or workshops.

In addition, the drafting of the National Artificial Intelligence Center concept (National AI Center) which is aligned with the Indonesian Digital Industry Center 4.0 (PIDI 4.0) initiative, activities for implementing appropriate technology owned by Microsoft and its various partners, as well as making plans for developing digital skills involving relevant ministries/agencies (K/L).

“Hopefully, through the signing of this MoU, the collaboration between the Government and Microsoft can be strengthened and enhanced. Together we will create a digital economy ecosystem that is able to accelerate the national economic recovery, as well as maintain inclusive, connected and sustainable economic growth,” said Rudy.

On this occasion, PT Microsoft Indonesia President Director Dharma Simorangkir said that his party was honored to be able to strengthen partnerships with the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in accelerating the achievement of Digital Indonesia.

Through these areas of cooperation, it is hoped that the empowerment of Indonesia’s digital economy can be carried out in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

The signing of the MoU is a continuation of the establishment of the Digital Alliance Working Group between the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Unika Atma Jaya, and Microsoft in early 2022. The working group has succeeded in producing effective recommendations for accelerating Indonesia’s inclusive digital transformation.****
