Fahri Hamzah: Indonesia needs a 'fighter' leader, not a lot of money

Fajarasia.co – Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Gelora Party DPN, Fahri Hamzah, emphasized that politics has a rule of law. If ethical standards are violated, it will cause chaos in the system.

“Presidentialism does not tolerate sharing power. The President is absolute, he cannot be controlled by the leadership of political parties (Parpol) or the Parliament, and the President cannot be overthrown,” said Fahri Hamzah in the Gelora Talk discussion entitled ‘Ruddle with Politics Aji As long as 2024, what is the President’s attitude?’, which was held online, Wednesday (18/5/2022) evening.

The minister, the former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives continued, may debate and don’t be afraid to be confronted by Parliament. If the budget is rejected, what’s the problem with going back to last year’s budget?

Fahri actually questioned whether it was true that the leaders of political parties dared to be with the President, because they would face a situation in the general election (Pemilu), in which neither the party nor the party concerned could be re-elected.

“That’s why in the United States there are by-elections as an arena for correction of the President and political parties. So that when there is an election it will produce a party that is different from the President,” he said.

Finally, Fahri asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to bring order to his ministers who are busy campaigning or doing political work ahead of the 2024 General Election. Because according to him, ministers wandering around who are not clear from people who want to become presidential candidates are wild acts that must be stopped, and it is the President himself who must stop.

“The electability of the President is now declining, because this is indeed wrong, and these people should not allow it. The campaign itself has a schedule for both the presidential and legislative elections,” said the politician from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).****
