Fajarasia.co – Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P faction, Doctor Effendi MS Simbolon, highlighted the performance of DPD RI Chairman AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, who has been using the facilities and even DPD RI institutions to fight for his own political interests. It’s not allowed to talk about politics on behalf of the DPD RI.
“For example, suing the president’s threshold (PT) to the Constitutional Court (MK) to be removed to zero percent. That’s for his personal interests so that he can run for president in 2024. That is not allowed, let alone to gather people who want to overthrow the President,” said a member of Commission I DPR RI told reporters at the DPR RI Building, Senayan Jakarta, Thursday (30/6/2022).
According to him, PT 20 percent is so that the presidential candidates are properly selected. So that not everyone can freely nyapres. “If it’s zero percent, it could be thousands of people who want to run for president. Is that like the presidential election or Sipenmaru (New Student Admission System)?” asked Effendi Simbolon.
If you really want to vote, Effendi continued, then make a party. Will the party be elected or not by the people? “If you are elected and how many votes you get, that’s what you make the people’s mandate to run for president. Don’t use the DPD RI institution to sue the president for running for president,” he said disappointedly.
Moreover, said Effendi, if his personal political interests use the DPD RI institution and the budget from the APBN? “What kind of republic do you want to be if you want to. I am a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the FPDI-P bound with 9 other DPR RI factions. If I leave this building, I can’t take the DPR RI with me,” he added.
He considered that LaNyalla’s political activity was extraordinary. “This morning here, afternoon there, afternoon there, and night out there. Write that down. Then, where are the other members of the DPD RI? No one dares to criticize?” he concluded.****
