Fajarasia.id – Deputy Mayor of Tanjungbalai, Muhammad Fadly Abdina, has officially been inaugurated as Chairman of the Regional Executive Board (BPW) of the Indonesian Association of Agricultural Scholars (PISPI) North Sumatra for the 2025–2030 term. His appointment was confirmed through Decree No. 025/KPTS/BPP-PISPI/X/2025 following his election at the organization’s Regional Conference (Muswil) 2025.
The Muswil and inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday (November 15, 2025) at the Grand Singgie Hotel, Tanjungbalai, under the theme “Supporting National Food Security Programs to Control Regional Inflation.” The event was attended by Tanjungbalai Mayor Mahyaruddin Salim, Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII of the House of Representatives H. Sugiat Santoso, PISPI Secretary Kamhar Lakumani, Agricultural Ministry Expert Staff R.S. Suroyo, and representatives from PISPI branches across North Sumatra.
In his remarks, Fadly Abdina emphasized his commitment to positioning PISPI as a strategic partner for both government and society in strengthening the agricultural sector. He highlighted the importance of technology adoption, human resource development, and cross-sector collaboration to maximize regional potential. According to him, food security is not only about production but also about effective distribution management, technological innovation, and sustainable institutional cooperation.
“My election is not merely an organizational mandate, but a responsibility to reinforce agriculture as the backbone of North Sumatra’s economy. PISPI must serve as a platform for agricultural scholars to innovate and provide solutions for farmers, while also contributing to inflation control, which is closely tied to the strength of the agricultural sector,” Fadly stated.
Mayor Mahyaruddin Salim expressed his appreciation for the successful Muswil and congratulated Fadly Abdina on his new role. He voiced optimism that under Fadly’s leadership, PISPI North Sumatra will generate innovative recommendations to address regional inflation challenges, strengthen strategic food production, and build a more efficient supply chain.
“We believe that with Mr. Fadly Abdina at the helm, PISPI North Sumatra will deliver valuable input for regional inflation control policies, particularly in Tanjungbalai,” Mayor Salim said.(Ignatius)
