Fajarasia.co – The Labor Party demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR building, Jl Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, was chaotic. The mob tried to break through the barbed wire using a commando car.
Seen at the location, Wednesday (15/6/2022) at 10.55 WIB, the Labor Party masses came to the front of the DPR building. The crowd who came initially protested the existence of barbed wire in front of the DPR gate.
“What are you doing with barbed wire? Usually there is no barbed wire,” protested one of the protestors at the location
Not long after, the mob tried to break through the barbed wire. The mob hit the barbed wire using two commando cars.
A number of other demo participants tried to remove the barbed wire. The police then set up barricades and blocked the crowd
Push-push action was inevitable. The commotion is getting hotter.
Some of the protesters were seen being detained by the police. They were taken to the inner security post in the DPR complex.
As a result of the riot, the police also arrested a number of the mass of the action. They were brought into the parliament building.
At around 11.04 am West Indonesia Time, the crowd became increasingly tense and it seemed that the masses were asking for their friend who was being held by the police to be released. They asked for their friend to be released while following the police.
“Hey, get out,” said one of the protesters.
Mass of Labor Arrives at DPR, Traffic Stalls Gatot Subroto
Then the command car came while calming the crowd of action. He asked the crowd to sit down and be orderly.
“Everyone sit down, everyone sit down!” said the orator from the command car.
Not long after, a mass of sit-in action was seen all over the road. Jalan Gatot Subroto is now impassable.
Vehicles can only pass through the busway or the TransJakarta route. Traffic flow is seen to have stalled.
Chairman of the Labor Party Said Iqbal said his party brought five demands in today’s demonstration. Here are five demands for today’s labor demonstration:
1. Reject PPP Law revision
2. Reject the omnibus law on the job creation law
3. Reject the election campaign period is only 75 days, but it must be 9 months according to the law
4. Pass the PPRT Bill
5. Reject agricultural liberalization through the WTO.***
