Fajarasia.co – Rain with light to heavy intensity on Monday is likely to fall in a number of areas in Indonesia, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) weather forecast.

According to BMKG weather forecast information broadcast online, heavy rain has the potential to lash the cities of Pekanbaru and Bandar Lampung and rain accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in the cities of Jambi and Pangkalpinang.

In general, the Java Island region is predicted to face the potential for light to moderate intensity rain, with rain accompanied by lightning likely to fall in the city of Surabaya.

Rain is also likely to fall in parts of the island of Borneo. The cities of Tanjung Selor and Palangka Raya are forecasted to face light rain, while Pontianak and Banjarmasin are likely to experience rain accompanied by lightning.

In the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is forecast in Mataram City.

Cyclonic circulation in the Indian Ocean southwest of Banten and West Kalimantan is observed to form a convergence area that extends in the Indian Ocean west of Banten from the Bangka Belitung Islands to the West Coast of West Kalimantan, from the North Coast of Kalimantan to West Kalimantan, and from Central Kalimantan to the western waters of West Kalimantan.

According to BMKG, the convergence area has also been observed extending from the southern Makassar Strait to the southern waters of Kalimantan and from the Banda Sea to the eastern part of Southeast Sulawesi.****
