Banten Prosecutor's Office Involved in Narcotics Sabu sabu Case

Fajarasia.co – There are no legal facts that can prove that two employees of the Cilegon City Public Prosecutor’s Office, the initials IW and SD, were involved in a case of 5 grams of crystal methamphetamine at the Class IIA Cilegon Penitentiary.

So in the incident on May 17, 2022, IW and SD were not named as suspects by the police. They only serve as witnesses in the case.

However, the police have named a drug convict at the Cilegon Prison with the initials DL as a suspect. The police are also hunting for KT and AP who ordered the methamphetamine which was brought to Cilegon prison by the prosecutor’s office.

It is known that DL ordered methamphetamine from KT and KT ordered methamphetamine from AP, which currently KT and AP have been included in the People’s Wanted List or DPO by the Banten Police.

The Deputy Director for Narcotics of the Banten Police, AKBP Nico Andreano, said that the reason for the non-application of the two Cilegon Kejari employees became suspects in the case because there were no legal facts. IW and SD were judged not to know there was methamphetamine in the charger.

SD only knew that it would receive a charger from IW’s brother, which would be given to DL, a prisoner in the Cilegon drug case. Therefore, regarding the methamphetamine case that occurred in the Cilegon Prison, the two Cilegon IW and SD Kejari employees were only used as witnesses.

“SD only received the charger head and the cable to be taken to the main door (PU) of the Cilegon Prison, to be delivered to DL’s brother,” Nico said when contacted by cell phone, Saturday (21/5/2022).

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cilegon District Attorney’s Office, Ineke Indraswati confirmed that IW and SD were employees of the Cilegon District Attorney’s Office. IW is an honorary and SD is a State Civil Apparatus or ASN at the Cilegon Kejari.

Ineke also confirmed that those involved in the methamphetamine case at the Cilegon Prison were not prosecutors, but honorary employees and civil servants.

“According to what was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Shinto Silitonga, IW is an honorary employee of the Cilegon Kejari and SD is a civil servant of the Cilegon Kejari. Not a prosecutor,” said Ineke.

Ineke asserted, related to the case of methamphetamine in the Cilegon prison which involved the two employees. According to the rules, it is not allowed for Kejari staff to help inmates to bring goods to the prison.

Related to this, his party has conducted an internal examination of the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office and his party is still waiting for the results of the examination.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Shinto Silitonga, added that in the methamphetamine case, the two Cilegon Kejari employees were not a network and were not suspects. But only as a witness in the methamphetamine case at the Cilegon Prison.

“Two honorary people and employees at the Cilegon Prosecutor’s Office are not a network and both are not suspects but only witnesses. For what reason, based on legal facts, both of them do not have mens rea (a person’s intention to commit a crime) for the departure of this item to the main door of the prison,” said Shinto.*****
