Fajarasia.co – Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq F Al-Rabiah to discuss the readiness to organize the Hajj pilgrimage in 1443 Hijriah/2022 AD.
In a written statement in Jakarta, Friday, the meeting took place at the Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was also attended by the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization Hilman Latief, Special Staff to the Minister of Religion Abdul Rahman and Abdul Qadir, Director of Foreign Hajj Services Subhan Cholid, and Consul for Hajj at the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, Nasrullah Jasam.
To Minister Tawfiq, the Minister of Religion said that his presence in Jeddah was at the direction of the Indonesian President Joko Widodo to ensure the readiness and quality of services provided to Indonesian pilgrims.
“The Indonesian government will follow the regulations of the Government of Saudi Arabia, including those related to health protocols. We believe all of them are implemented to provide comfort, including for Indonesian pilgrims,” said Minister of Religion Yaqut.
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia affirmed his commitment to improve services to all pilgrims, including Indonesia. With a quota of 100,051 people, Indonesia is the country that dispatches the most pilgrims in the world.
“Indonesia has a special place in the citizens and government of Saudi Arabia,” he said.
The Minister of Religion arrived in Saudi Arabia on May 18, 2022. The Minister of Religion previously reviewed and checked the quality of services that would be provided to Indonesian pilgrims while in Mecca. The services include accommodation, catering and transportation.****
