Fajarasia.co – The budget for the 2024 General Election of 76.6 trillion will be discussed again in the Hearing Meeting (RDP) of the DPR, Government and Election Organizers on 23 May.
The chairman of the KPU RI, Hasyim Ashari, said that his party would bring the KPU’s budget issue to the RDP next week. According to him, the budget of 76.6 trillion is still possible to be reduced if the non-electoral costs are removed from the budget received by the KPU.
“In 76.6 trillion there are still non-electoral costs, such as for the COVID-19 health protocol (prokes) and infrastructure for KPU offices, KPU warehouses. said Hasyim when contacted by cell phone, Monday (23/5/2022).
As much as possible, said Hasyim, the KPU should focus on the electoral budget, while the non-electoral budget should not be allocated to the KPU but to the government which has the authority to handle it, so that it can only benefit from it.
Hasyim further said that in relation to the readiness of infrastructure for KPU offices and KPU warehouses, the commitment of the central and regional governments is needed.
“Preparing it can use several patterns, the first pattern is financed by the state budget and the second pattern can later be borrowed by the government or central government agencies in the regions, can also be asked for assistance or loaned by the local government.” he said
For the electoral aspect, said Hasyim, it can be confirmed that it is fixed, including the plan to increase the salaries of the Voting Organizer Group (KPPS) officers.
“We have increased it from 500 thousand to 1.5 million. Their work is heavy, massive and mentally also full of pressure. If the honorarium or honorarium is decent, it reduces the risk and can maintain its integrity,” concluded Hasyim.****
