Fajarasia.co – The Vice President (Wapres) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, encouraged the relevant ministries/institutions to accelerate the implementation of Public Service Malls (MPP).
This was conveyed by the Vice President when giving a speech at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Acceleration of the Implementation of Public Service Malls, at the office of the Ministry of Empowerment of State Civil Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/6/2022).
“I ask that the signing of the memorandum of understanding is not merely symbolic, but is actually realized by putting aside sectoral egos, in order to achieve the implementation of a quality MPP,” said the vice president.
“Processing birth certificates, basic health services, education, taxes, and death certificates must be accessible to the public in a practical and simple way,” he added.
The vice president hopes that the MPP development can be realized in all regions. This aims to improve the quality of public services, as well as increase investment in the local area.
“Therefore, MPP should immediately be built in all regions in Indonesia,” said the Vice President.
As of June 2022, continued the Vice President, the number of MPPs that have been inaugurated is 57 MPP. In addition, the implementation of MPP is currently still centered on the island of Java with a total of 34, or 60 percent of the 57 existing MPP.
“There are only 59 MPP, or about 11 percent of the 508 regencies/cities in Indonesia. Thus, we still have a lot of homework to do to provide MPP in each region,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Minister for Empowerment of State Civil Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, ad interim Mahfud MD, conveyed the bureaucratic reform agenda which is expected to encourage transformation through the implementation of MPP.
“The implementation of the MPP is a form of implementing reforms in the field of integrated public services towards world-class public services, so as to increase global competitiveness which leads to an increase in the economy,” said Mahfud.
