Shares in France end negative, CAC 40 index dips 1.20 percent

Fajarasia.co – French stocks ended in negative territory on Tuesday (14/6), extending their decline for the sixth day in a row, with the benchmark CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange slumping 1.20 percent, or 72. .48 points, to settle at 5,949.84 points.

The CAC 40 index fell 2.67 percent or 164.91 points to 6,022.32 points on Monday (13/6), after dropping 2.69 percent or 171.23 points to 6,187.23 points on Friday (10/6), and decreased by 1.40 percent or 90.17 points to 6,358.46 points on Thursday (9/6).

Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies that are components of the CAC 40 index, only eight stocks managed to record profits, while 32 other stocks experienced losses.

Worldline, a French multinational payment and transaction services company, was the top loser of the blue chips, with its share price sinking 7.29 percent.

Followed by the shares of companies that develop, manufacture and market the active ingredients of the French multinational pharmaceutical Euroapi fell 5.70 percent, and the French multinational electrical device designer and manufacturer Legrand lost 4.12 percent.

Meanwhile, Carrefour, a company that operates supermarkets, hypermarkets, cash and carry stores, and e-commerce websites, rose 1.54 percent, becoming the top gainer of leading stocks.

Followed by French international banking and financial services group BNP Paribas which rose 1.42 percent, and French multinational integrated oil and energy company TotalEnergies SE rose 1.37 percent.***
