“So at the time of the incident, information from Eril’s family confirmed that the two people had arrived at the river. Something unexpected was carried away until Eril shouted ‘help’,” said Elpi Nazmuzaman at a press conference at the Pakuan State Building, Bandung City, Saturday.
According to Elpi, a cry for help from Eril was heard by the family and suddenly the family on the riverbank immediately ran to find Eril.
In addition, the cry for help from his nephew was also heard by local residents who at the time of the incident were on the banks of the river and immediately called the police.
“As soon as the screams for help were heard, the residents on the riverbank called the police,” said Elpi.
When the incident took place, said Elpi Nazmuzzaman, the eldest son of Ridwan Kamil, was with his family including his mother who was on the Aare River, Bern City, Switzerland.
According to Elpi, Eril was swimming with some of his friends in the Aaree river, Bern, Switzerland.
He further said that at that time, Eril’s family met with the local police and it turned out that the police already knew about it.
“Therefore, we appreciate the alertness of the police to monitor the situation,” said Elpi.****
