Fajarasia.co – The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, asked the government to massively disseminate the purchase of bulk cooking oil with the PeduliLindung application. Moreover, most of the buyers of bulk cooking oil in the market and food stalls are people who are not used to using information technology on a daily basis.
“Socialization on the purchase of people’s bulk cooking oil (MGCR) using PeduliLindung must be carried out intensively. Especially because the majority of buyers of subsidized cooking oil come from the lower class, who don’t necessarily have smartphones,” said Puan, Monday (27/6/2022).
The socialization on the purchase of bulk cooking oil for Rp. 14,000/liter or Rp. 15,500/kilogram starts today for the next 2 weeks. Puan assessed that the socialization must be carried out simultaneously to remote areas of the country.
“And it is necessary to pay attention not to make policies difficult for the people. Especially for people who do not have smartphones to access the PeduliLindung application,” said the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
Puan understands that the use of the PeduliLindung application is intended so that the Government can check the distribution of cooking oil in real time as an anticipation of fraud that causes shortages. Even so, he assessed that socialization could not only rely on information technology.
“There must be a direct approach to the community, to traders, so that they really understand the transition to the cooking oil purchasing system,” said Puan.
On the other hand, the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reminded that monitoring should be carried out carefully. Because, said Puan, it is not impossible that purchases using this method are used by people who are looking for profit.
“It must be avoided that fraudulent acts or brokers take advantage of the difficulties of buyers who cannot access the PeduliLindung application by asking for an additional price. Of course, supervision must be assisted by the National Police’s Food Task Force team,” he urged.
The people’s bulk cooking oil program can be obtained at sellers/retailers who are officially registered in the Simirah 2.0 program. In addition, through Logistics and Retail Service Business Actors (PUJLE).
During the socialization period, people are allowed to buy subsidized bulk cooking oil using their ID cards. The purchase of people’s bulk cooking oil at the consumer level is limited to a maximum of 10 kg for one NIK.
“We hope that this program will be successful in overcoming the scarcity of cooking oil which has an impact on price increases. The DPR also hopes that there will be an evaluation during this socialization period so that we can find the best formula in the cooking oil purchasing system,” concluded Puan.****
