Prohibition of Saudis to Indonesia Doesn't Affect Hajj

Fajarasia.co – Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said that the travel ban from the Saudi Arabian government for its citizens to 16 countries, including Indonesia, had no effect on the implementation of the 1443H/2022M pilgrimage.

“I don’t think so, the authorities are different. As far as I communicate with the Saudi Arabian government, this has no effect and hopefully this can be revoked,” said Minister of Religion Yaqut when met at his office, Wednesday (25/5/2022).

Earlier on Saturday (20/5/2022), the Saudi Arabian Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) banned Saudi Arabian citizens from traveling to 16 countries including Indonesia due to the Covid-19 case.

The list of 16 countries to visit includes Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, Vietnam, Indonesia, Armenia, Belarus and Venezuela.

The Saudi Arabian Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) also said there are health requirements for Saudi citizens who wish to travel outside the Kingdom.

“Saudis traveling outside the Kingdom must receive three doses of vaccine or not to exceed three months after taking the second dose of vaccine,” announced Jawazat.

Citizens under the age of 16 and 12 are required to receive two doses of the vaccine. Meanwhile, those under 12 years old are required to carry insurance against the Corona virus when traveling outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It is known, Indonesia will dispatch the first batch of pilgrims to Medina, Saudi Arabia on June 4, 2022.

The Minister of Religion said that he had seen preparations related to the services of the Hajj pilgrims, both accommodation, consumption, transportation and so on.

From the results of his visit to Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Religion ensured that the services for pilgrims were ready.

He directly checked the condition of the hotel that will be occupied by pilgrims, and tried to drive a bus that was prepared to transport pilgrims.

According to the man who is familiarly called Gusmen, the accommodations prepared in both Mecca and Medina were up to standard and functioned well.

Likewise with transportation in the form of buses that are prepared to serve pilgrims. ****
