“These include increasing tax compliance, economic recovery, and the upward trend in commodity prices. Commodity prices, which began to grow in 2021, will carry over into 2022. So from May to December, we estimate that we will receive tax revenues of between 1,450 – 1,485 trillion,” said Director of Potential, Compliance and Revenue of DGT Ihsan Priyawibawa in a DGT media briefing, Friday (27/5/2022).
The potential tax revenue exceeds the tax revenue target set in 2022, which is Rp1,265 trillion. According to the report from the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), tax revenues as of May 26, 2022 have reached 679.99 trillion or 53.04 percent of the target in 2022.
In today’s media briefing, the Directorate General of Taxes also reminded taxpayers to take advantage of the remaining time for the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS), which has one month remaining.
“Alhamdulillah, PPS participants continue to grow. As of 27 May 2022, PPS participants were 51,682 taxpayers, the total income tax paid was 10.3 trillion, and the total assets reported were 103 trillion,” said DGT’s Tax Compliance Expert, Yon Arsal.
According to him, to remind taxpayers, the DGT in March had sent an email to 1.6 million taxpayers. The email contains an appeal for taxpayers to take advantage of the Temporary Disclosure Program before it ends on June 30, 2022.
“What we are worried about is that if there are assets that are left behind that have not been reported, while the PPS has been completed, then there is no more opportunity,” concluded Yon.***
