Police Arrest Tanker Ships Hoarding Subsidized Fuel

Fajarasia.co –  The Directorate of Specific Crimes (Dittipidter) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has secured a tanker ship Permata Nusantara V in the Tanjung Priok waters area, North Jakarta, Wednesday (25/5/2022).

The ship was secured by Dittipdter officers because it was used by a diesel mafia syndicate from Pati, Central Java, to hoard and carry subsidized fuel. The Bareskrim team together with the Ditpolair Korpolairud Baharkam Polri and the Tanjung Priok Port Police conducted a review of the ship owned by PT. The Aldi Mighty Energy.

The Karopenmas of the National Police Headquarters Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan and the Director of Certain Crimes of the National Police Bareskrim Brigadier General Pipit Rismanto who took part in this inspection immediately opened one of the tanks.

It appears in the tank that subsidized diesel fuel has been traded by the diesel mafia at non-subsidized prices to several parties, including fishermen and industry.

Karopenmas Police Headquarters Brigadier General Pol Ahmad Ramadhan said the modus operandi of the perpetrators was to take subsidized diesel from gas stations using a modified car and then accommodate it in a warehouse, then transport it using this tanker.

“This ship was secured by investigators regarding the disclosure of the case of misuse of diesel fuel as a follow-up to the handling of the case that was released in Pati,” said Ahmad at the location, Wednesday (25/5/2022).

Meanwhile, the Director of Specific Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Brigadier General Pipit Rismanto explained that the Permata Nusantara V ship was initially detected when it was last detected at Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang.

A few days ago, the ship was known to be refueling before returning to sailing.

That’s when the police received information that the ship was going to Tanjung Priok Port and immediately secured it.

“Initially the ship was at the dock in Tanjung Mas. However, when we wanted to check, it turned out to be already on its way to Tanjung Priok,” said Rismanto.

According to Rismanto, this ship was carrying as much as 499,000 liters of diesel when it was secured in Jakarta Bay. It is strongly suspected that the diesel fuel in this ship was supplied by PT Aldi Perkasa Energi.

The company is suspected of storing subsidized fuel from the mainland to be stockpiled on the ship.

“It is strongly suspected that based on the information and existing documents, it turned out that they were supplying this ship,” said Rismanto.

It was informed that as many as 12 people were named as suspects for selling fuel or subsidized diesel fuel in Pati Regency, Central Java. The police are also investigating the existence of a tanker which is suspected to be related to the case in Pati.

For the investigation of the tanker case, Bareskrim will involve the Tanjung Priok Port Police to assist in the investigation process.

Later the police will also examine other companies that are collaborating with PT Aldi Perkasa as well as Pertamina Oatra Niaga Company.*****
