Fajarasia.co – PT PLN (Persero) has prepared electricity reserves in the form of generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) free power supply equipment to ensure there are no blackouts during the Bali Arts Festival (PKB) which takes place on 12 June – 10 July 2022.
General Manager of PLN’s Main Distribution Unit (UID) Bali, I Wayan Udayana, explained that the electricity reserves were prepared at several event locations, including the Chandra Art Center and the Bali People’s Struggle Monument, Bajra Sandi.
He said that the backup power supply that was prepared by PLN UID Bali consisted of 7 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with a capacity of 250 kVA and 100 kVA, 3 units of generators with a capacity of 250 kVA and 100 kVA.
“If there is a disturbance, this reserve will automatically take over so that the distribution of electricity will continue,” said Udayana as quoted from a written broadcast received in Denpasar, Tuesday (14/6/2022).
Not only providing backup power supplies, PLN has also deployed 218 personnel at a number of priority points, including event locations and related electrical substations such as the Tohpati Substation and the Sanur Substation in Denpasar.
“Our personnel and equipment are always ready to support the full month PKB event. The security pattern has also been prepared referring to the SOP (standard operating procedure, ed.), which has been prepared so that electricity can be ensured is safe and reliable, “said Udayana.
He continued to explain that his party had also carried out inspections and maintenance from the generator to the distribution network before the event took place.
“We ensure that maintenance, both on the generator side, transmission, substations, including distribution networks have been carried out before the standby implementation, so that during the activity all maintenance activities are postponed or eliminated unless there is an urgency for repairs due to disturbances,” said General Manager of PLN UID Bali.
He said that PLN was ready to be part of the Bali Arts Festival, which is the largest arts and cultural event on the Island of the Gods.
“This time the PKB can finally be held lively after the previous 2 years it did not run optimally because of the pandemic. Therefore, PLN wants to be an important part of supporting the success of the month-long event by ensuring safe electricity during the activity,” said Udayana.
