Fajarasia.co – Although Puan Maharani’s electability is still far behind compared to other presidential candidates, PDI-P politician Johan Budi remains optimistic that Puan can be promoted as a presidential candidate in 2024.
Budi emphasized that Puan is a person who prefers to focus on her performance and responsibilities, rather than being busy doing imagery on social media. This is in contrast to other politicians who are busy spreading charm on social media.
“Our discussion should not only dwell on whether the candidate is liked or not, based on survey results and popularity on social media,” said Johan Budi in a POLEMIK weekend talk show at MNC Trijaya entitled “Measuring the Ideas and Visions of the 2024 Presidential Candidates,” Saturday, August 20, 2022.
Johan then compares Puan to other figures who are keen to use social media as a campaign event from a long time ago to build an image as a people’s leader.
“Often making content, uploading eating instant noodles on the side of the road as if he were a populist leader candidate. Or reviewing while angrily kicking the door to see the mistakes of his subordinates, it’s in order to form an image, “said this former KPK spokesman.
According to him, the politician’s modus operandi is nothing but to attract public sympathy which leads to an increase in electability. “So it’s not a war of ideas,” he continued.
In fact, to become a leader, continued Budi, it is not enough to only have electability, but the most important thing is the capacity and capability that can be seen from their track record. “It can be measured by how the candidate’s track record goes through the levels of leadership,” he said.
Puan, Budi emphasized, has a clear track record, starting from members of the DPR, the chairman of the largest party faction, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, until now the Chairman of the DPR. Puan chooses to be more consistent in carrying out her vision and mission as a leader, in every position she holds rather than being active on social media.
