Fajarasia.co – Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Chair of the PDI-P (PDIP) Puan Maharani attended the final of the Love of the Homeland Gymnastics (SICITA) competition held by the Central Java PDIP DPD. Puan also reminded that women in Indonesia must be physically and mentally healthy.
The final of the SICITA gymnastics competition between two-star commanders in Central Java was held at the Marhen Panti Marhen Office of the PDI Perjuangan Central Java, Semarang, Sunday (18/9/2022). The winner of the competition for the Puan Maharani Cup.
In the peak of this SICITA gymnastics competition, Puan participated in doing gymnastics with the participants. The competition, which started on September 4, 2022, was attended by 100,000 women in Central Java and competed for a total prize of IDR 717 million.
The SICITA Gymnastics activity itself was held to recruit female PDI-P cadres. PDIP wants more Indonesian women to enter politics to help build the nation and state.
“The activities held by the Central Java PDIP DPD to be able to gather and gather women throughout Central Java to jointly fight for and win women, do you agree or not?” asked Puan to the contestants who were immediately answered ‘agree’ by the contestants.
The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives stated that this was the first time she had seen many women in the PDIP DPD office during her time with PDIP. Puan also asked the event committee whether the target of 100 thousand women was really achieved to take part in the SICITA Gymnastics competition.
“It turned out that it was true, this is the word that behind me even more than 100 thousand participants. More than 100 thousand from regencies/cities in Central Java,” he said.
The participants of the SICITA gymnastics competition were women aged 17-45 years. Puan hopes that with the SICITA exercise, the community, especially women, can maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“When our bodies are healthy, God willing, our souls can be strong, and when our bodies are healthy and our souls are strong, we will be able to build Indonesia into a sovereign, and personal character,” said Puan.
“That’s why the PDI-P is promoting the Love of the Fatherland Gymnastics (SICITA) to be carried out throughout Indonesia,” added the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
To note, SICITA is a gymnastics initiated by PDIP ranks in collaboration with academics in the field of sports.
“The research already exists that one series of SICITA movements can burn 1,000 calories. And the songs used in SICITA reflect the richness of the nation’s culture and the spirit of Indonesian nationalism,” explained Puan.
The grandson of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia, Bung Karno, also congratulated the finalists and winners of the Puan Maharani Cup for the Sicita Competition. Puan reminded all participants and PDIP ranks in Central Java to do the SICITA exercise with a happy feeling.
“SICITA’s spirit to live a healthy and joyful life must then be transmitted to all Indonesian people, our families, our neighbors, our friends,” he said.
Puan requested that PDIP cadres become pioneers of health by using SICITA. He also said that the Commanders should use Sicita to invite as many people as possible to join PDIP.
“Joining our struggle to realize Bung Karno’s ideological ideals. All you have to do is find a field, have speakers, then you can do SICITA together. It’s healthy, fun, and it’s getting closer,” said Puan.
He added that PDIP cadres must be healthier. Moreover, said Puan, the schedule for the 2024 election stages is getting more and more crowded.
“If we want to win a hat trick then we have to be healthy, healthy, healthy. Healthy so that it can continue to go down to the community, healthy so that it can continue to work to help the community, healthy so that it can continue to work together to build Indonesia,” he said.
After the exercise, Puan symbolically gave the PDIP membership card (KTA) to the participants of the SICITA competition. He also summoned a number of women to have direct dialogue with him.
“Who is Miss Maharani?” Puan asked the female participants of SICITA.
Some said that Puan was the Speaker of the House of Representatives, while others said that Puan was the grandson of Indonesia’s first President, Soekarno.
“President candidate,” said the majority of women who participated in answering questions.
Meanwhile, according to the Chairman of the Central Java PDIP DPD, Bambang Wuryanto, the SICITA gymnastics competition was held in the context of ‘Win Spectacular in 2024’.
“PDIP is holding this competition because it wants to ground SICITA gymnastics, realize a healthy life for the people of Central Java, as well as strengthen the Two-Star Commander,” explained Bambang Wuryanto.****
