Fajarasia.co – The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) will hold a horse race to enliven the Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) in Samota, Sumbawa Regency on 24-26 June 2022.
Head of BPPD NTB, Ari Garmono, said the horse racing activity was the government’s effort to introduce the annual traditional activities of the Sumbawa people in the national and international arena through the MXGP Samota.
“This activity can also provide other activity options for MXGP Samota spectators to extend their visit to Sumbawa,” he said in Mataram, through a release received on Monday (13/6/2022).
He said this activity was held on June 15-22 in Filter Village, North Moyo District, Sumbawa Regency. The length of the racetrack reaches 1.8 Kilometers and the racetrack is close to the MXGP Circuit.
“The length of the racing arena reaches 1.8 kilometers and the distance is close to the MXGP Circuit,” he said.
Ari said, playing jaran or horse racing itself is a game that is very popular with local residents of Sumbawa Regency. Besides being an entertainment attraction, it is also a place to increase the selling price of horses, because the horses that usually win have a high selling price.
“The price can reach hundreds of millions of rupiah,” he said.****
