Fajarasia.co – Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin invites all youth in the country to play an active role in drug prevention and eradication efforts in order to create a superior and quality generation.
“To be more productive and competitive, let’s together prevent drug abuse,” Budi told reporters on Sunday (26/6/2022).
The invitation looks at data from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) which shows an increase in the number of drug abuse disorders, psychotropics and other addictive substances from 1.8 percent in 2019 to 1.95 percent in 2021.
Furthermore, Budi explained, youth are the next generation of hope for the nation who play an important role in the country’s development program.
“In 2030 Indonesia will achieve a demographic bonus, with the dominance of the productive age community,” he said.
“Especially including youth, they will play an important role in supporting national development programs,” he continued.
Budi added that the government continues to make a number of efforts to increase awareness and understanding of youth to play an active role in creating a superior and quality generation.
“Currently, there are several problems related to risky behavior among young people, such as violence, bullying, drug abuse and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases,” he concluded.****
