Fajarasia.co – The roof of the spectator stands or the Formula E grandstand in Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta, collapsed. Polda Metro Jaya said it was still investigating the cause of the collapse of the roof of the tribune.
“So it is true that there was no loss of life (the roof of the tribune). The cause is still under investigation. The cause is temporary because of strong winds due to the rain last night, meanwhile,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Zulpan when contacted by reporters, Sunday (29/5/2022).
Zulpan said there were no casualties in the incident. The incident is known to have occurred on Friday (25/5) at 23.00 WIB when Jakarta was drenched in heavy rain.
Zulpan said that the Formula E committee was repairing the collapsed roof of the stands.
As for the other tents, Sahroni made sure everything was safe. He said the tent would be completed until the implementation later.
“But for VVIP, VIP tents, everything is under control and in accordance with what is now until June 4, 2022,” he said.
Previously, the roof of one of the grandstands or stands at the Formula E circuit collapsed due to strong winds and rain. A number of tents were prepared to anticipate a similar incident from happening again.
Rain and strong winds damaged the roof of the grandstand at the Formula E circuit on Friday (27/5) at around 23:00. The roof repairs are expected to be completed tomorrow.
“Strong winds and thunderstorms last night, only 1 grandstand collapsed, that’s just the roof, but it was immediately reworked this morning,” said Sahroni.****
