Fajarasia.co – The former 5th President of Indonesia and the General Chair of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri, reminded all of his cadres not to be involved in criminal acts of corruption. Megawati threatened that any cadre involved in corruption would immediately leave the party.
This was conveyed by Mega, through a video displayed by the Secretary General of the PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto in the Integrated ‘Intelligent Politics with Integrity’ agenda at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Office, Monday (27/6/2021).
“How ashamed you are, your whole life has been tarnished, children and wives, do you not feel sorry for the descendants? I said don’t be corrupt, there is still corruption, get out! ” said Mega in the video, Monday (27/6/2022).
Through the video, Hasto explains a number of internal party programs that have been formed and have been implemented in order to prevent corruption. The first program is political education.
The PDIP leadership cadre is said to be carried out to produce statesmen with good moral and ethical standards.
As for every candidate for party management, regional heads, and members of the legislature, they are required to take psychological tests and party schools. The second program is integrity building.
“PDIP has built a system to maintain integrity by drafting a set of regulations, including the obligation of party leaders to report party assets to the general chairman, sanctions for dismissal for party members and cadres caught by the KPK,” Mega said.
In addition, any PDIP cadre with the status of a suspect in corruption cannot be nominated as a candidate for regional head, deputy regional head, and member of the legislature.
Furthermore, in order to fight nepotism, PDIP limits the nomination of regional heads and members of the legislature in one family to a maximum of two people who can be nominated. And may not be in the same level and the same electoral district.
“Who did that (corruption), fire him! Get him out of the PDI-P!,” Mega added in the video that Hasto explained.
The KPK held the Integrated PCB program as a way to encourage the strengthening of internal integrity within political parties (parpol). This time the program is targeting PDIP, after several other parties.
A number of PDIP elites who were present face to face were Hasto Kristiyanto, Olly Dondokambey, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, I Made Urip, and Mindo Sianipar.
Based on case handling data until January 2022, there were 310 cases involving members of the DPR and DPRD, 22 cases involving the governor, as well as 148 mayors/regents and deputies handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission.****
