Fajarasia.co – PDI-P (PDIP) politicians hope that the public chooses leaders based on benchmarks of success, not image. Thus, the presidential candidates (Capres) in the upcoming 2024 presidential election are candidates for leaders who are truly qualified.
This was conveyed by a PDiP politician, Masinton Pasaribu, to reporters, Jakarta, Sunday (5/6). According to him, the public needs to be educated in determining future leaders before the 2024 General Election.
“The election is part of the grand design of our nationality, so choosing a leader must be in accordance with the national context. In this case, choosing a leader must be based on success measures, not because of the image factor,” said Masinton.
“So we must educate the public, leadership based on success, not because it is based on imagery. If it’s imaging, it’s hard for us to measure its success and achievements. The image is only shown as if it were,” said Masinton.
Then who is the figure who has a track record of success for future Indonesian leaders? Masinton said that the chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, was one of the leading figures who had a clear track record.
“Mba Puan has been trained since she was young, she is not just a grandson of Bung Karno or her son Mrs. Mega and Mr. Taufik Kiemas, but Beliu was trained and trained from a young age,” explained Masinton.
According to him, Puan is a born leader shaped by time and history. Where, Puan has been forged since the New Order era in national politics. So, according to Masinton, Puan has a strong character and really understands the situation and condition of the community as a whole.
“Because he has been in various situations and felt the atmosphere of society. From the start of the new order era, so he knew and felt togetherness with the community. So that in every policy decision, it will be in the interests of the wider community,” said Masinton.
“When Mrs. Mega became vice president and later became president, she always followed that journey, so she knew how to lead from a political party organization and lead the government,” Masinton continued.
Meanwhile, said Masinton, a number of names that currently appear in the results of survey institutions to run in the 2024 presidential election have no known track record and success while leading. Because, lately a number of names are only limited to displaying the image.
“If he has an image as a leader, he is not yet a leader, he just dreamed of becoming a leader, so he sells his self-image,” he said.
“Well, it’s different from leadership, which is measured by achievements and success. That’s what we call a leader who has a track record. It’s easy to measure it, if the imaging is difficult, we judge it because there is no success,” said Masinton.
Therefore, Masinton hopes that before choosing a leader, there needs to be education to the public. Because choosing a leader is part of the process of national dynamics, so this nation should not be wrong in choosing a leader in the future.
“The leadership we need is one with character and commitment. In addition to having character, he also has a leadership spirit, he will be wiser and more able to overcome various kinds of problems, “said Masinton.
Previously, Puan answered the negative views of some who scorned her political career. Puan emphasized that even though he is the grandson of the proclaimer Bung Karno and the son of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, it does not mean that he can achieve his political career without hard work or relying on political privileges.
“Perhaps many think that I reached my current position easily, because being the grandson and son of a character is considered to be able to pave the way.
