Fajarasia.co – The Second Fleet Quick Response (SFQR) Team of the VIII Manado Navy Main Base foiled the alleged smuggling of 114 illegal chickens from the Philippines, at Manado Harbor, last Sunday.
The Commander of Lantamal VIII, First Admiral TNI Nouldy Tangka, in a press statement, in Manado, Sunday, said the Lantamal VIII team together with KSOP related agencies carried out a Balance Operation or created conditions at the Manado Port.
When creating conditions at the Port of Manado, an inspection was carried out on KM Barcelona, which had just arrived from Melonguane, Talaud Regency, North Sulawesi.
“During the inspection, it was found that 114 chickens were suspected to be from the Philippines,” said TNI First Admiral Nouldy Tangka in a release received Monday (30/5/2022).
He said the chicken was then taken to Mako Lantamal VIII, and then, according to the procedure, it was handed over to the police.
“Later, our colleagues from the police will investigate where the chicken came from, as well as the purpose or to whom this chicken will be handed over,” he said.
“All catches according to procedures will be handed over to the police, to conduct further investigations, where this chicken came from, and to whom the final destination is,” said Tangka, accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Manado Police Commissioner Taufik Arifin and officials from Manado KSOP.
The alleged crime committed was in violation of Law Number 17 of 2006 concerning Customs.
