Legislator Supports Government Audit All Palm Oil Companies

Fajarasia.co – Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives supports the steps taken by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investments (Kemenko Marves) to audit all palm oil companies, after the problem of rare and expensive cooking oil.

“I see it for the good in the future, for the stability of CPO oil, cooking oil is good too. Apart from the pros and cons, it’s a normal thing,” said Member of Commission VI DPR RI Rudi Hartono Bangun to reporters, Tuesday (14/6/2022) .

“Then the main thing is actually about the chaos of yesterday’s drama, what is the real essence of the problem that must be opened up,” he added.

This NasDem Party politician assesses that the plan to audit the palm oil industry needs to see and audit the stock of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) owned by entrepreneurs.

Then also, he explained, the stock of cooking oil produced by each factory and the amount exported. So that cooking oil stock data is open which should be intended for domestic consumers.

“That should now be audited so that all problems are open and finally in the future the stock for the people’s cooking oil will not be disturbed to be rushed for export,” he explained.

“So in the end, everything is open and prices are stable, that’s the purpose of the audit. Don’t aim for politics or other interests,” concluded Rudi.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that he had signed an audit warrant for palm oil and cooking oil companies.

He admitted that he was asked by President Joko Widodo to solve the problem of cooking oil on the islands of Java and Bali. This audit was conducted to identify the palm oil industry including plantation area, production and head office.****
