Fajarasia.co – Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD emphasized that he would not hesitate to destroy the Khilafatul Muslimin organization. This is done if the organization threatens the existence of the Pancasila ideology.
“Including khilafatul Muslims, we will brush off if they threaten ideology. But we also pay attention to human rights because it is also the duty of the state to protect human rights,” Mahfud told reporters at the Presidential Palace, Monday (20/6/2022)yesterday.
It is known that the Polda Metro Jaya stated that as many as 30 schools were affiliated with the Khilafatul Muslimin community organization. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) also stated that it would carry out rehabilitation of students from the 30 schools.
Mahfud said that although his party forbade the existence of the Khilafatul Muslimin organization, he asked to continue to uphold human rights.
“The point is that there should be no movements that threaten ideology, but we must also pay attention to human rights,” he explained.
Because, according to Mahfud, all this time he had heard the news of the spotlight from the United Nations regarding the handling of human rights cases in Indonesia. Even though after he proved it, it turned out that the spotlight was just a mere issue.
“Because so far the handling of human rights in the international world has not received any attention. If we always hear from certain groups, Indonesia has been highlighted by the United Nations, I just came from there, there is nothing, I asked where the records are about what, nothing,” he said.
“So it was just a person giving a speech outside the building, then it was called at the UN building, even though there was no record. I just reported to the President, 41 countries were under the spotlight, Indonesia did not enter, it’s been 3 years in a row. So it’s normal, ” he said. *****
