Fajarasia.co– Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, Dr. H. M. Hidayat Nur Wahid MA., received a visit from Malaysian parliament member Dato Yahaya Bin Ali. The meeting took place in the Work Room of the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR, Nusantara III Building 9th floor, the MPR complex, DPR and DPD RI, Wednesday (8/6/2022). Also present at the event were Dato Yahaya Bin Ali’s wife, Toh Puan Zarani Binti Othman, and members of the entourage.
On that occasion Dato Yahaya Bin Ali conveyed the latest news regarding the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia. According to him, now the people there have returned to normal life as before. Like before the Covid-19 pandemic came.
“Our arrival here is to connect the ties between the parliamentarians of the two countries. In this way, hopefully the parliamentary relations between the two countries will get better,” said Dato Yahaya Bin Ali.
To the deputy chairman of the MPR, Dato Yahaya Bin Ali also sought to find out how democracy was implemented in Indonesia. Also the power of state institutions, such as the MPR, DPR and DPD RI.
Answering various questions submitted by his guests, HNW nicknamed Hidayat Nur Wahid said, currently Indonesia is preparing to make the transition from pandemic to endemic. However, the community has been able to carry out various activities, but by paying attention to the progress.
“Many meetings can already be held offline. However, not a few community members are used to using the online system. What is certain is that the number of Covid-19 cases has decreased drastically,” Hidayat added.
Answering a question about power in Indonesia, Hidayat said, Indonesia is also familiar with the term trias politica. Namely, executive, legislative and judicial powers. But Trias politicka in Indonesia does not mean separation, but division of power. It aims to do mutual checks and balances. Not to bring each other down.
According to Hidayat, the implementation of democracy in Indonesia is going well. Between Islamic parties and nationalists can work together in harmony. But indeed, there are certain groups who are not happy to see the harmonious collaboration between Islamic and nationalist parties. They always do slander and fight sheep.
“Until now, PKS has been able to cooperate with all other parties. As a party outside the government, PKS always provides criticism and input. Even though in fact, according to the duties of the legislative body, all factions in the DPR must supervise the government,” added HNW.
To become a party participating in the election, every political party, said Hidayat, has various conditions that are not easy. Among other things, the status of a legal entity, having management throughout Indonesia. In addition, it has the management of 75 percent of the total regencies/cities in the province concerned. And 50 percent of the number of sub-districts in the district/city concerned. And include at least 30 percent of women’s representation at all levels of management. Also, having at least 1,000 members in the management of district/city political parties as evidenced by the ownership of KTA. And have permanent management offices at the central, provincial and district/city levels.
“To fulfill these requirements is not easy. It takes hard work and the support of all cadres so that the party can participate in the elections,” said Hidayat ending his meeting with Dato Yahaya Bin Ali.
