Fajarasia.co – Persija Jakarta players Makan Konate joined the Persija squad training camp. Konate came after getting a chance to vacation in Mali.
The player who was born in Bamako, Mali on November 10, 1991, immediately attended a training session at the Nirwana Park Football Field, Bojongsari, Monday (30/5/2022). Even though he is a week behind his other colleagues, Konate is sure that his physical fitness is not far behind.
“I feel my physical condition is at a good level. Because while in Mali I only had the first five days off from training. After that, I routinely do independent exercises, such as going to the gym and playing soccer with my friends,” Konate said Tuesday (31/5/2022).
The presence of new coach Thomas Doll makes Konate optimistic that Persija’s hard work this season can be successful. He hopes Persija’s preparations for welcoming the 2022/2023 League 1 will run smoothly.
“I and other players certainly hope that Persija’s preparation this season is better than before. Honestly, I don’t know what kind of scheme the coach wants, but I’m optimistic that the team can show their best performance,” he added.
Currently, Konate and other players are preparing for the pre-season event. The draw for the pre-season tournament which will take place from 11-28 June 2022, the Kemayoran Tigers are in Group B with Borneo FC, Barito Putera, RANS Cilegon FC and Madura United.
Persija and three other teams will be hosted by Borneo FC in Samarinda during the group phase. After passing the group stage, the tournament will continue with a single match system on 1-2 July 2022.***
