Fajarasia.co — Hundreds of people in six regencies/cities in East Java declared themselves as Puan Maharani volunteers. They support the grandson of the Proclaimer of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.
Volunteer Coordinator Puan Maharani East Java Chusnul Wafiq
said, the declaration of Puan Maharani’s volunteer was a consolidation event in the regions, especially currently targeting the horseshoe area. “Currently, volunteers have been formed in Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Situbondo, Banyuwangi, Lumajang and Jember. Until next August, we will complete a declaration and consolidation in 10 electoral districts throughout East Java,” he said, Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Chusnul said that these volunteers moved to socialize Puan Maharani to the public as a presidential candidate for 2024. Because, according to him, many people in East Java did not know that Puan Maharani was a worthy figure, both in terms of achievements and Soekarno’s revolutionary character.
“There is also a lot of wrong information about Puan Maharani, she is a victim of gender politics, even though if we look into it, there are many good things that have been felt by the community as a result of Puan’s work, for example, social assistance, smart Indonesian cards, healthy Indonesian cards, all of which came from the hands and minds of Mrs. he said.
Responding to the widespread declarations of Puan Maharani’s volunteers, political observer Catur Nugroho said that declarations made by non-cadre volunteers from political parties have different effects, especially if they involve the community directly. “It is possible that it was organic sympathizers, indeed from the start it was done because of the preference for Puan Maharani,” he said.
Catur assesses that Puan Maharani has succeeded in promoting herself in the community, so that the number of declarations is proof that Puan is starting to be included in the public discussion. “This is proof of Puan’s success after going directly to the community,” he concluded.****
