Coordinating Minister for the Economy: The younger generation must be creative in reading competition opportunities

Fajarasia.co – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that the younger generation should be more creative in reading opportunities to compete at the national and global levels amid the challenges of digitalization that continues to develop.

“After graduating there are several choices for graduates, whether to become professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, writers or whatever is the best choice. For graduates this is a challenge to be more creative and smarter to read opportunities,” said Airlangga in front of 1,784 graduates of the National University at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Sunday (19/6).

He conveyed that graduates should continue to be connected with universities, because with all the changing dynamics, it is necessary to study all the time, so that it will help alumni in making careers in society.

Likewise, universities will be greatly helped by alumni who have succeeded in providing feedback on their knowledge to the campus. So, a cycle like this makes the university very rich in information and changes that occur.

“Of course this is a challenge for all of us and for us in the government, this is how the workforce can be facilitated and graduates can adapt to the needs of the job market. I hope that new entrepreneurs will grow,” he said.

“The government only needs to provide facilities and the government prepares financing facilities, including People’s Business Credit and various other facilities,” said Airlangga.

He hopes that students who want to be entrepreneurs can take advantage of the learning and training carried out by the government, including for young people who want to move in the digital sector.

Because, he continued, Indonesia is a digital market. In 2020 it will reach 44 billion US dollars, in 2021 it will reach 70 billion US dollars and in 2025 it is estimated that it will reach 130 billion US dollars, making this the largest in ASEAN.

Regarding digital transformation which is one of the themes in the G20 presidency, according to him, Indonesia has done many things that are more advanced than other countries.

“In terms of infrastructure, we are ready with 5G, we are ready with inter-island fiber optics, we have satellites and now we are talking with Space X with Telkom for low earth orbit satellite, which is a new technology to connect islands in Indonesia,” he said. .

One proof that Indonesia is faster than other countries in digital transformation programs, namely in the industrial sector 4.0, the health industry for example, during COVID-19, which downloaded telemedicine applications only 2 million, but in 2021 it reached 21 million.

lization, at the time of COVID-19 the government launched a program called G to P or Government to People, namely from the government to the community, one of which was the Pre-Employment Card program, which the president received a few days ago,” said Airlangga.

He said that the Pre-Employment Card program has been accessed by 115 million people, more than 88 million have been able to download and qualify, but 12.8 million were received in 2 years, and this kind of program cannot be done only with non-digital programs.** **
