Baleg: Puan Maharani has been firm, the DPR is concerned about the MCH Bill for the sake of the Golden Generation

Fajarasia.co– Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI, Willy Aditya, emphasized that the DPR wants the Bill on Maternal and Child Welfare (MCH) to be completed as soon as possible. This is for the sake of Indonesia’s golden generation where the role of mothers in caring for children during exclusive breastfeeding is guaranteed by the state.

It is known that on June 30, the MCH Bill will be ratified in a plenary session of the DPR to become a proposed bill on the initiative of the DPR.

“Of course, Ms. Puan has also firmly stated her statement, the DPR is very concerned with these issues, because it is very fundamental for us in taking care of our future generations, in taking care of mothers and children, in taking care of the family,” Willy told reporters. , Sunday (26/6)

What is the attitude of the factions in Baleg? Willy emphasized that all factions fully support the MCH Bill to be completed immediately.

“All factions are clear and in agreement, and all have strong political will for this bill,” said the NasDem legislator for the East Java electoral district.

Furthermore, Willy said, after being ratified into a bill that proposed the next DPR initiative, the DPR was waiting for the Problem Inventory List (DIM) from the government to be discussed immediately.

“We in the DPR are certainly waiting for the DIM as soon as possible which will be made by the government. Hopefully the government will immediately take care of the DIM, this is almost the same as the ministry-PPA, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Health, these are the stakeholders,” said Willy.

DPR Speaker Puan Maharani stated that the MCH Bill was fought for so that the closeness between mother and child after giving birth could be maximized, through the addition of maternity and maternity leave for mothers, from three months to six months.

“3 months leave is enough, but if you can 6 months, why not. And the next 3 months, will it be WFH, still working, but with the baby. This is important. So that the closeness between mothers and children can be closer, they can provide more breast milk,” said Puan at the Festival of People’s Health Service Innovation to Avoid Stunting, at the PDI Perjuangan Lenteng Agung School, South Jakarta some time ago.****
